Questions

Straight answers.

Is this number a refund or a deduction?

No. It is not a refund, a deduction, or a saving, and it says nothing about your taxes. It is one thing only: how much you told us you spent in the last 12 months that you could not document. What any of it means for your taxes is a question for your tax professional.

Where does the number come from?

Only from your four answers. Each spending range is counted at its midpoint, multiplied out to 12 months, and reduced by the share of receipts you said you still have. No industry averages, no IRS rates, no statistics — nothing you did not tap yourself.

Do you save my answers?

No. The calculation happens on your phone, in the page. Your answers are not sent anywhere, not stored, and there is nothing to sign up for.
