Obviously we are not neutral. So instead of pretending, every entry below says what that product is genuinely best at and where it beats us — and our own entry says plainly who should not use CabSnap.
There are no ratings, no download counts, and no testimonials on this page, for anyone including us. Just what each product says it does, checked on August 5, 2026.
The options
Capture and keep, built for one hand in a cab.
Best for: Owner-operators and 1099 drivers who want the receipt saved in three seconds at the pump and nothing else.
Not for: Anyone who needs mileage tracking, an iPhone app, expense reports, or accounting sync. We do none of those.
Mail your paper in and let people scan it.
Best for: Drivers with a backlog — a drawer or a box going back years — and anyone who wants human verification of the data rather than trusting OCR.
Not for: Someone who only wants to catch today's receipt at the pump and has no backlog to clear.
Full expense management with reports and approvals.
Best for: Anyone who submits expenses to a company — employees, and drivers who also do contract work where a client wants an expense report.
Not for: An owner-operator with nobody to submit to. The approval workflow has no other end.
Scan receipts, build PDF and CSV reports.
Best for: People who want their receipts exported into their own files and formats, on whichever platform they use.
Not for: Drivers who want mileage tracking — the site does not list it.
Put the paper in the compartment.
Best for: Nobody, honestly — but it is what most drivers are actually using, and pretending otherwise would be silly.
Not for: Anyone who needs the receipt to still be readable in April. Thermal paper goes blank in a hot cab.

Where we lose
If none of those four apply to you, we think CabSnap is the fastest way to stop losing receipts at the pump. If one of them does, use the other thing.
Questions
It depends on which problem you have. For clearing a years-old backlog of paper, a mail-in service like Shoeboxed is the strongest fit. For submitting expenses to a company, Expensify. For exporting into your own files, Smart Receipts. For catching the receipt in your hand at the fuel island in three seconds, CabSnap. Anyone who tells you one app wins every scenario is selling that app.
Of the products on this page, Shoeboxed and Expensify both list mileage tracking. Smart Receipts does not mention it on its site, and CabSnap does not do it at all. If mileage is your main requirement, that narrows the list immediately.
Shoeboxed, Expensify, and Smart Receipts all list iPhone apps. CabSnap is Android only right now. If you are on an iPhone, CabSnap is not currently an option for you and we would rather say that on this page than let you find out at the App Store.
Yes. Under Rev. Proc. 97-22 the IRS accepts electronic copies of paper records, provided the image is legible, matches the original, can be printed on request, and is stored securely. This is a recordkeeping answer, not tax advice — talk to your tax preparer about your own situation.
